Was bleibt, wenn man dem Menschen seine Erziehung, seine Kultur abzieht?
Ein zentrales Thema von "Wolfsjunge" ist der Umgang mit Minderheiten.
"WOLFSJUNGE" ist eine theatrale Forschungsreise für gehörlose und hörende Schauspieler, Sopranistin und Perkussionisten.
2002 schlug ich der Intendantin Barbara Mundel in Luzern vor, WOLFSJUNGE aufzuführen. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt war die Gebärdensprache in der Schweiz noch immer keine offiziell anerkannte Sprache. Gehörlose Kinder wurden nach wie vor gezwungen, Lautsprache zu sprechen. Nach dem gleichnamigen Film von François Truffaut und den Aufzeichnungen von Dr. Itard, dem Arzt, der 1798 versuchte, dem stummen „Wilden von Aveyron“ die Lautsprache beizubringen, erarbeitete ich mit hörenden und gehörlosen Schauspieler/innen ein Theaterstück. Dabei sollte ein gemeinsamer Erzählstil zwangsläufig über eine große Unmittelbarkeit und Körperlichkeit entstehen. Lautsprache sollte neben Gebärdensprache und nonverbaler Kommunikation stehen. Zudem sollte durch die Sopranistin Jennifer Davison (Opern-Ensemble des luzernertheater) und den Perkussionisten Benjamin Brodbeck eine Kommentarebene zu einzelnen Situationen der Geschichte und der emotionalen Zuständen der Figuren entstehen. Da Barbara Mundel zwar begeistert war von der Idee, aber keine Möglichkeit sah, die gehörlosen Spieler bzw. Dolmetscher und den Perkussionisten zu finanzieren, habe ich mich kurzerhand entschlossen, meine eigene Produktionsfirma DAKIWA zu gründen und das fehlende Geld aufzutreiben, was mir auch gelungen ist.
